Look Back

I didn't have any difficulty working with blogger. I thought that blogger was an easy site to do. I don't think I felt frustrated at any time when using blogger or doing any blog assignment. I think that the idea of writing online for a class is a good idea. Normally in class we are assigned to write about something but we are giving a writing style to follow and I enjoyed writing about thing with the freedom of writing in our own style.  

   

I think that the limit of writing 250 word per entry is not a hard thing. I think that it is pretty easy to go over the limit when you are intersted in what you are writing about. To me writing blogger was not a pain in the neck because in all of our classes we are used to writing more than 250 words. I have taken a lot of writing intensive classes before  and I accually thought that this writing intensive class was not that intensive.  

 

For me it was extremly hard to meet the deadlines for Saturday night. I don't know if it was this semester that to me seemed so hard because of the classes I took, but for me meeting the dead line was impossible. I know that if the deadline would have been Sunday night instead of Saturday I would have not missed one single assignment. I think that there definitly be a deadline to follow but I think that it should be Sunday . I think that it is intresting to read the opinions of other classmates. Reading what others have to say about a subject is great thing. To me the only thing that I would change would be that it shouldn't be manditory. I think that it is better to give the option of chosing to do it or not. 
 

As I said before I think that we are all used to writing for different classes so writing on a weekly bases wasn't something new to me. Know that this semester is almost over I m going to have more time for things like blogger. So I do think that I am going to remain writing on blogger but I don't think I am going to do it weekly. As I said before I like the idea of writing about something and having people read it and comment you about it is a really great idea. I was really intrested to hear at the begining of the semester to hear that as an assignment we had to work on blogger since no other class has ever assigned something like that.  

Free Writing

I think that this semester is the most hectic semester that I have had. I am so full of things to do, I am way over my head! Especially these two last weeks have been extremely busy, especially with the birth of my first nephew. In these past two weeks I had to do three research papers, complete an ePortfolio, study, for my midterm for my Drugs and behavior class and a lot of other small things. I hardly had any sleep last week trying to do everything, especially since I spend a lot of time with my nephew.

Luckily I now have things under control. In my previous blog I wrote that my topic was going to be about water. But after seeing some of the response that I got I decided to narrow it down to writing only about Colorado’s rivers, and its problems and the endangered fishes that are suffering the consequences of low water flows. I realize that writing about the use and abuse of water was too of a broad topic. After seeing all the research that I had already I saw that I had enough information to write only about the ten most problematic rivers and it’s fishes that are in the endangered list.

I was very interested in the response that the professor put in my previous blog. “I learned what happens to the water after it is used in my house; one of many issues was the use of antibacterial soap for washing dishes—antibacterial soaps actually make it harder for special bacteria to clean the water supply which is then turned into drinking water again and also ends up in our bodies, killing good bacteria that we need to be healthy” I was very interested in writing about that topic but I HONESTLY didn’t have time to do more research so I used what I already had and narrowed it down to wring more about eh endangered fishes in the Colorado River.

Progress Report

The topic that I am going to do is about water. Since water is so broad I narrowed it down to the use and abuse of water. I am going to discuss the way people use water, how they waste water. I am also going to discuss about the rivers that are going dry. The river that I am going to go into depth is the Colorado River. Since the rivers are going dry, their are a lot of consequences that effect nature and the animal life of the water.      

The reason that I want to write about this topic is because water  is one of the most important elements that we humans have. Basically we can't survive without water, we drink it, use for bathing, cooking, etc... We are not the only people that need and use water. All the water animals need water to survive if there is no water than they is no habited for them and they die. I want to write about his topic because it is important to know about what is going on and what would happened if this problem continues.    

The audience that I hope to reach are for all the people that use water. (all humankind) Since water is used by everybody on the earth I would only wish that everybody that uses water  can read the research paper that I am writing. 

The sources that I have so far are some some online document. I am also using three books. One of the uses of water, the other of the conservation of water and the third is about the rivers. I am also using a info packet about the Colorado River. I am also going to use sources from newspapers. My thesis write now is about the use and abuse of water and the dryness of rivers and the dangers for humans and water animals. 

Perserving God's Creation

The mission of Noah was to build an ark and bring as many paired animals into the ark to save them from the flood that was to come. Noah gathered a female and a male of: elephants, giraffes, lions, birds, horses, and many more. Noah does what God tells him to do and he saves the animals from the flood. I believe that somewhat of the role of human kind is to preserve as much of God’s creations. God gave us the tools to live and we should destroy the earth.

Wither or not people or religious or not, I do believe that people should preserve what is on earth because we need what is on earth to survive. Wither or not you believe in god or not, that’s your choice, but people should maintain the earth and all of its resources.

Water, land, plants, air, and animals should all be preserve. People shouldn’t cut off trees, and release wastes into the water. Water that we drink by the way. There shouldn’t be killing of animals to get a fur coat, that go out of fashion in a couple of months. People should help the earth by preserving it and not taking from it. People should be more involved and should help more, there is only ONE earth.
I believe that god put us in this earth along with nature and all the animals. I think that as our duty we should defend what was given to us. We shouldn’t let the earth be damaged by destroying our natural resources ourselves.

TV, Shopping and everything else!

I admit I am guilty of spending a lot of my time watching TV and shopping. But most of the people in the Unites States, let a lone New York City are guilty as well. Even though I do spend a lot of time studying but I am I a TV addict. I get very raped up in the TV and sometime, It interferes with the other things I am doing. During the day I either at school, studying, or running earns, but starting from late afternoon to late night I spend all that time watching TV. I admit that as well as my TV addiction I also spend a lot of my weekend time shopping. I at least have to go shopping one day in the week end (not including the weekdays).
But thankfully I don’t spend time surfing the web. I only use the internet for finding research of school, I don’t go into chat rooms or have a myspace just because I feel it is better to interact in person. Don’t think that all I do is watch TV or shop I spend a lot of time with my family. People today spend a lot of there time on the computer on there cell phones, watching TV, all of the things that consume peoples life’s.
As I said before I spend a lot of time watching TV and shopping but I organize my time so that I can have time to study, read books, shop, and watch TV. I feel that if people can learn to manage their time better they can stop letting modern technology consume people life’s.

The Enviroment

Every morning I pretty much have the same routine and just recently I have found out that a lot of the things that I do are effecting the environment. One of the things that I do which has a negative effect on the environment is taking long showers. I am very used to taking long showers, but unfortunately I am wasting a lot of water, and by that, affecting the environment. I have decreases the amount of time that I run the water in the tub as well as letting the amount of water that I let run when brushing my teeth. One of the other things that I do in the morning was, taking the subway to school. By me taking the train instead of driving to school I am helping the environment with not using gasoline. I feel that if you have the option of taking the train or driving people should lean more toward the mta transportation, just because your being more earth friendly. Every little thing you do can help the earth. There are several things that I already do to help the environment such as: recycling and using those energy saving light bulb, I use less of plastic bags, and I useless water. I have a lot of concerns about the environment because I feel like there are a lot of negative things that are happening and there is no attention being put into the subject. I think that the worst thing that people can do is ignore or not do anything to help the environment.
